Build Our Future by Building Today

Johnson County Fair Expo Center

60 Years of the Livestock Show Arena

The current livestock show arena was built in 1964 and has withstood nearly 60 years of annual county fair livestock shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits, and other community events hosted at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

Its condition has deteriorated through the years leaving post beams rotting, tin rusting through and seating that is difficult for all ages and abilities to access. The Johnson County Fair and Johnson County Agricultural Association is concerned with the safety of exhibitors and their livestock as well as spectators and fairgoers.

The new Expo Center will provide a safe, accommodating, and enhanced experience of our annual fair exhibitors while also allowing additional 4-H, FFA and community events, and agricultural exhibits. The modern facilities offered through the new Expo Center will allow us to attract more events, including livestock shows year-round and encourage interest in livestock and agriculture.
